Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in all living organisms. It hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushion and lubricant to reduce damage to the skin. By its nature, hyaluronic acid retains water like a sponge, absorbing more than 1,000 times its weight.
